About the San Marcos Community Foundation ::
The San Marcos Community Foundation (SMCF) awards grants to non-profit activities for groups organized exclusively for public or charitable purposes that show direct benefit to San Marcos residents.

The SMCF was established by a resolution of the San Marcos City Council on October 27, 1987.  The SMCF is independently administered by a Board of Directors appointed by the City Council to two-year terms.

The fund administered by the Board of Directors originates from a contribution by the builders of the North County Energy and Resource Recovery Center.

The 2007 schedule of SMCF meetings is now available as a PDF.  For updated information about the SMCF meeting schedule and agendas, please visit the SMCF page on the City of San Marcos website.
